As adults, we understand the fun and hoopla Valentine’s Day brings… but for the little ones in our lives, it can cause unnecessary anxiety and tension. Take a few minutes to talk with your child and remind them that the exchange of Valentine Cards is a fun way to show respect and friendship to ALL of their classmates. It’s a fun way to make people feel included and special. Any ‘extra-special valentine’ cards or gifts need to be given outside of the classroom. For classroom parties, make sure your child has enough Valentine’s to share with each student (and don’t forget their teacher).
If you’re an adult and looking to do a little jewelry shopping for your special Valentine, here is a great post from local jeweler Daniel Gordon on jewelry shopping etiquette.
