What a pleasure it’s been to watch Evelyn grow over the past seven years! We have loved watching her mature into the beautiful young lady she has become.
“During these past seven years that I have been involved in the program, my favorite part was learning the different types of dances and meeting new people. My favorite memory was in sixth grade, when I was trying desperately to learn the new dance steps and not to get my feet stepped on during the first class. I continued the program for the next several years because I realized that in order to obtain a solid foundation of social and etiquette skills, you must be given opportunities to practice these skills several times before they become second nature. This program has provided this experience and so much more! It has given me the confidence to meet new people and to attend any and all types of social events! I also enjoyed the opportunity in serving as a Teen Assistant and as a member of the Teen Board (Student Ambassador). These experiences were a wonderful way to become more involved with the program.
Of course, my favorite event of each season has been the final ball in February. It was a time when everyone could dress in his formal attire, look his best and apply the etiquette skills and dance steps he had learned during the year. Also, the opening kick-off party was one of my favorites, as well. At this time, one could meet new members who were interested in joining the program and see returning members once again.
This past spring break, I had the opportunity to go to Guayaquil, Ecuador on a mission trip! My training in the program definitely came in beneficial when meeting and greeting the school educators and directors! You are definitely judged by your etiquette skills and how you carry yourself!
Upon graduation from Edmond Memorial High School, I plan on attending Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2014. Majoring in Biology! Gig ‘Em Aggies!”- Evelyn
