It’s National Handwriting Day…and I have to say, my handwriting stinks! I recently cleaned out my office and started a new filing system (www.ThePaperTiger.com) that I absolutely LOVE… no more lost files, but that’s another story. As I was cleaning out my office, I came across some notes I jotted down a few short years ago and whoa… I literally stopped myself in my tracks, and found myself staring at what used to be my neat penmanship. Fast forward to my notes today… I sometimes can’t even decipher my own writing.
As I speak to adult groups, “poor handwriting” seems to be one of the leading excuses why people refrain from sending a hand-written note via snail mail. They’re “embarrassed”, or they say, “oh, the recipient won’t be able to read my writing”, you get the drift.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t ever recall cracking open an envelope and thinking to myself, “man, I wish they would have sent me an email instead, their handwriting is atrocious”.
In honor of National Handwriting Day, take a minute to jot down a note to someone and drop it in the mail. I promise, it will make their day… even if they have to reread it a couple of times!!!
We’ve made it easy to keep your list of notes “to be written” organized…. Create a “just because” category on the “Thank You Note and Event Manager App” to keep track of people in your life who would like to send a little note of thanks or encouragement. Hop over to our app page for more information.
