As seen on:

Recently my mother’s best friend, Judith Ann, passed away; it has been really tough on everyone as she was a much-loved lady.  Mom and her were best chums: they talked on the phone, they shared, they laughed… they did everything together.

When someone passes away, it’s automatic to think of sending a sympathy note, flowers, etc., to the family.  Not often do we think about the void it will leave in the life of their best friend as well.  I was amazed at how many handwritten notes and cards my mother received from people reflecting on what an important person Judith Ann was to my mother and how they were sorry for my mother’s loss as well.

Next time someone you know passes away… think about his or her best friend and drop him or her a handwritten note in the mail.  I’ve seen first-hand what an impact it can be to help aid in the grieving process.
